The Suri Alpaca
Phenotype should show a distinctive elegant profile with
balance, stretch, and power; the Suri Head style; and exhibit the
Suri fleece style described as straight, high luster, cool handling
and independently swinging fiber.

The Huacaya
Alpaca Phenotype has a squared-off appearance with four
strong legs. It is a graceful, well proportioned animal with fiber
coverage from the top of the head to the toes. The fleece looks wavy
or crimpy giving the Huacaya a fluffy “Teddy-Bear-like” appearance.

PROVEN FEMALE ALPACA: A
female which has already had a cria. Proven producers are considered
to be fertile.

BRED MAIDEN ALPACA: A female
that has not yet had a cria and is determined to be pregnant.

YOUNG FEMALE ALPACA: A
female that has been checked by a veterinarian and has been found
to have anatomically normal reproductive tract.

PROVEN MALE ALPACA: A male
that has settled a female or that has been tested fertile. Proven
males are considered to be fertile.

that has been checked by a veterinarian and has been found to have
anatomically normal reproductive organs.
